After more than a year and a half of work, the new hydroelectric plant that operates the Bon-Nant water flow has been in operation since the beginning of May. Downstream from the Pont des Loyers, a water intake takes 3 m3 per second in the watercourse via a large underground penstock. One hundred meters lower in the municipal workshops, a large hydropower plant converts the flow of water into electricity, an annual production of 6.9 million kilowatts, the equivalent of the average consumption of 5,800 inhabitants. A work operated by the Occitan company Quadran, an independent company recently acquired by Total, which produces electricity from renewable energies for the equivalent of 1.3 million inhabitants.
